A Guide on How to Purchase K-Pop Concert Tickets

Getting K-pop concert tickets can be quite challenging due to the high demand. Here are some tips and tricks to increase your chances:
1. Join Fan Clubs
Many K-pop groups have official fan clubs. Joining these clubs often provides early access to tickets and exclusive pre-sale opportunities. For example, if your favorite group is under HYBE Corporation, fan clubs can be found on Weverse. Be sure to do your research beforehand to ensure higher chances of getting your desired tickets.
2. Follow Official Channels
Keep an eye on the official social media accounts of the artist or group. Announcements for tours and ticket sales are often made there first. Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter) are popular platforms for announcements. From my own experience, typically announcements made on X are more detailed and are released sooner than Instagram.
3. Sign up for Notifications
Subscribe to newsletters and alerts from ticketing platforms such as Ticketmaster, Live Nation, AXS, and others. This will keep you updated on upcoming sales.
4. Presale Codes
Look out for pre-sale codes, which are sometimes available through credit card companies, mobile carriers, or other promotions. These codes give you early access to tickets before the general sale.
5. Multiple Devices and Browsers
When the tickets go on sale, use multiple devices (phone, tablet, computer) and browsers to increase your chances of getting through. You should try to avoid using the same account on these ticketing websites to limit any bugs or glitches when purchasing your tickets.
6. Be Prepared
Create an account on the ticketing website and log in before the tickets go on sale. Make sure your payment information is saved to avoid any delays during checkout.
7. Internet connections
Ensure you have a fast and stable internet connection. This reduces the risk of lag or disconnection during the purchase process.
8. Queue Early
Some ticketing sites have virtual quenes. Join the queue as early as possible to get a better spot. From personal experience, I would have my devices and websites loaded 30 minutes before the tickets go on sale. I have encountered problems with the ticketing website where they accidentally released the tickets earlier than the designated time. There have also been instances that the tickets were released late.
9. Know the Venue Layout
Familiarize yourself with the venue’s seating chart. This will help you quickly choose your preferred seats without hesitation. However, oftentimes there is not enough time to pick out your seats, using the slidebar typically located on the right hand screen is the most efficient when looking at seating and pricing.
10. Avoid Scammers
Purchase tickets from official sources to avoid being scammed by scammers. If you have to buy from resellers, use trusted platforms that offer guarantees. Sometimes people also resell tickets on social media platforms, but not all can be trusted.
11. Practice Patience
Be prepared for the process to take some time. Don’t give up if you don’t get tickets right away; sometimes additional tickets are released closer to the event date. If you are purchasing tickets in a highly populated city, often more concert dates will be released.
12. Stay Informed
Join online communities or forums where fans share tips, information about additional ticket drops, and other relevant updates. I usually use X to find my information and learn about other people’s ticketing experiences.
By following these tips and staying persistent, you’ll have a better chance of securing those K-pop tickets.
